Into the North

for Oceana

‘Into the North’ is a visual ode to the North Sea, to the men and women working under extreme conditions to study and protect our oceans.

We joined Oceana and their team of marine biologists on their first North Sea expedition. On board of the Neptune, we soon learned that the North Sea is no longer the paradise for whales, plankton and seabirds it used to be.

for Oceanic

Panthalassa was tasked by Oceanic Global to create and produce a lifestyle shooting with their latest diving collection. We loved the idea of collaborating with French photographer Vince Perraud and challenged him to show us diving through a different lens.

SAREAK

for Real Sociedad

Behind the motto “Sareak, saving the ocean is our game” unused nets have been retrieved from the sea in order to turn them into soccer goal nets.

Every year, 640,000 tons of fishing nets end up on the bottom of our oceans. Panthalassa, in cooperation La Liga football club Real Sociedad and with the sponsorship of Salto Systems, have launched the “Sareak” initiative in which abandoned nets are retrieved from the bottom of the sea, from the ports and warehouses, and then up-cycled into soccer goal nets by local fisherwomen.
